THE ARTIST

Hi, I'm Yashika

Founder of Smarah: a space born from my long-standing love for photography and a desire to preserve moments that evoke emotion, memory, and quiet reflection.

While my career has evolved across engineering and design disciplines, photography has always remained the constant I found myself returning to.

What began as a quiet personal escape gradually became a way for me to observe, understand, and connect with the world around me. I am deeply inspired by ordinary scenes, fleeting light, natural textures, and subtle emotions that often go unnoticed.

Through careful composition and timing, each image is shaped into a work that holds both atmosphere and emotion, offering a visual experience that endures beyond the moment itself.

Through my lens, I seek to preserve the quiet poetry of everyday life, passing seasons and spaces that hold stories without words, inviting stillness and reflection.

And sharing my work through prints feels like a natural extension of this journey. There is a quiet fulfillment about seeing these captured moments become part of someone else's space and experience.

This artistic journey is deeply personal and through my work, I hope to share small moments of beauty that encourage people to pause, observe, and feel.

THE PROCESS

More Than Just a Print

Each photograph emerges from patience, intuition, and a deep attentiveness to moments that cannot be recreated or staged. These are instances that exist briefly, suspended in time, before disappearing.

Curated Paper

Each print starts with museum-grade, 100% cotton rag paper, the same archival stock used by the world's finest galleries. It's acid-free, textured, and built to last a lifetime.

Giclée Printing

Using pigment-based archival inks every tonal shift and subtle detail is faithfully reproduced. No mass production, each print is made to order, one at a time.

With Care, Always

Each print is carefully and thoughtfully packaged using protective, environmentally responsible materials. Shipped in rigid cardboard tubes or sturdy recycled mailers, every artwork is prepared to arrive safely and in excellent condition.
